Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence, her mother, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's childhood. At times, the family relied upon free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as one who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially when he'd been drinking. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and she was later told she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary and then started high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
